This notice explains what personal information Land and Waterscapes collects when you use our website or get in touch with us, why we collect it, who we share it with and the rights you have over it.

Who we are

Land and Waterscapes Limited is the controller of the personal information described in this notice. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 05302437, and our registered office is 141 Englishcombe Lane, Bath BA2 2EL.

You can contact us about anything in this notice:

The information we collect

When you send us an enquiry

Our enquiry forms ask for your name, email address, phone number and a message about your project. We also record the page you sent the form from and the date and time.

When you phone or email us

We keep the details you give us, such as your name, contact details, the address of the site and what you would like us to do.

When you become a customer

We keep what we need to prepare a quote, carry out the work and invoice you, including the site address, drawings, correspondence and payment records.

When you browse our website

We only collect information about how you use the website if you accept analytics or marketing cookies. With your consent, this includes the pages you view, how you arrived at the site (including any advert you clicked), the type of device and browser you use, your approximate location based on your IP address, and, through Microsoft Clarity, how you click, tap and scroll on our pages.

If you accept marketing cookies, the phone number shown on the site may be a Google forwarding number. If you call it, Google passes the call straight to us and tells us that it came from one of our adverts, with the time and length of the call and the caller's area code.

To protect our forms from spam

When you use one of our forms, Google reCAPTCHA checks that it is being filled in by a person. To do this, Google collects information about your device and how you use the page.

Your cookie choice

When you answer our cookie banner, we keep a record of your choice with a random identifier, the date and the page you were on, so that we can show what you agreed to. This record does not include your name or IP address.

Who we share it with

We only share your information with organisations that help us run our business, and only what they need:

  • CreateTheWeb, who build, host and look after our website and manage our Google adverts. Website enquiries are sent through their systems, and they receive a copy of enquiries from most of our forms so they can check which adverts bring enquiries. Our website and its form records are stored on servers in the United Kingdom.

Transfers outside the United Kingdom

Google and Microsoft may process information in other countries, including the United States. Where they do, the transfer is protected by the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or by the UK's approved contract terms for international transfers.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not lead to work: up to 2 years after our last contact with you.
  • Customer records: 6 years after the end of the financial year in which the work finished, as tax law requires.
  • Google Analytics: no longer than 14 months.
  • Microsoft Clarity: recordings for 30 days and summary data for up to 13 months.
  • Cookie choice records: 2 years.
  • Cookies on your device: for the periods listed in our cookie settings.

Cookies

Cookies are small files that a website stores on your device. We use three kinds:

  • Necessary cookies remember your cookie choice and protect our forms from spam. The site cannot work properly without them, so they are always on.
  • Analytics cookies from Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity show us how the website is used.
  • Marketing cookies from Google Ads show us which adverts lead to enquiries and calls.

We only set analytics and marketing cookies if you accept them, and we ask again after six months. The full list of cookies, who sets them and how long they last is in our cookie settings, where you can also change your choice at any time: open cookie settings. The same link is at the foot of every page.
